Gender and Science Reader by Muriel Lederman, The Gender and Science Reader brings together key writings by leading scholars to provide a comprehensive feminist analysis of the nature and practice of science. Challenging the self-proclaimed objectivity of scientific practice, the contributors uncover the gender, class and racial prejudices of modern science. The Reader draws from a range of media, including feminist criticism, scientific literature, writings about scientific education, and the popular press. Articles are grouped into six thematic sections which address: -- Women in Science -- women's access to study and employment in science, combining both analytical evidence and personal testimonies -- Creating Andocentric Science -- exploring the gendered origins of science at the time of the Enlightenment -- Analyzing Gendered Science -- feminist methodologies and epistemology for the study of science -- Gendered Praxis -- examples of how gender bias can affect and distort scientific work -- Science and Identity -- how science reinforces gender and racial stereotypes -- Feminist Re-Structuring of Science -- what is the future of feminist science studies? In addition to a general introduction by the editors to the volume, and introductions to each of the thematic sections, the Reader also includes a comprehensive bibliography of feminist science studies, making it an indispensable resource for anyone involved in the teaching, research or study of science.

Triple Award Science - Triple Award Science, unlike Single award science and Double Award Science, is not combined GCSE study of science - rather, the term is a short-hand reference to individual GCSE subjects in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. For example, if one studies Double Award Science, on their GCSE certificate, they will be credited with two GCSEs in Double Award Science. Christian Science Journal - The Christian Science Journal is an official monthly publication of the Church of Christ, Scientist through the Christian Science Publishing Society, founded in 1883 by Mary Baker Eddy. Written chiefly for Christian Scientists, as opposed to the Christian Science Sentinel and Christian Science Herald, it includes articles written from a metaphysical angle of Christian Science, with editorials, church news items, testimonies of healing, and listings of Christian Science churches, practitioners, nurses, and Committees on Publication. Christian Science Publishing Society - The Christian Science Publishing Society is the publishing arm of the Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. It resides in the Publishing House building and other offices, publishes the writings of Mary Baker Eddy and other Christian Science literature, and is the originator of the Christian Science Monitor, Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, and the Herald of Christian Science . Golden Age of Science Fiction - The Golden Age of Science Fiction, often recognized as a period from the early 1940s through the 1950s, was an era during which the science fiction genre gained wide public attention and many classic science fiction stories were published. The saying "The golden age of science fiction is twelve", from the science fiction fan Peter Graham [Hartwell 1996], means that many readers use "golden age" to mean the time when they first developed a passion for science fiction, often in adolescence.
